Preschool Art Fundamentals, $85/mo

For ages 3-5 years

Preschool art classes are the perfect balance of art and playtime.  These classes are messy and silly.  They are story-filled and sensory-rich.  They are irresistible.

Our preschool classes meet three times per month. 

Tuition includes all of our supplies, materials, and an Orange Easel art journal.

What is class like?

In our 90 minute classes, we'll move throughout the entire studio space.

The first half of our class is more directed.  We'll have an arrival activity, share a story, respond in our journals, and then work on an art project.

The second half of the class is a time for the artists to explore create stations in our preschool art room.  Stations go long with our learning objectives and change monthly.

What are the learning objectives?

Each month we have a media focus, an art concept, and a famous artist to learn about.

Do parents drop-off or stay?

If your artist is 3 years old or older, we do allow them to attend the class independently.  Typically we have about 50/50 ratios of parents who stay to attend class and families who drop-off.  Please see our drop-off policy below.

 

Drop-off Policy for Preschool Classes

If your artist is 3 years old or older, we do allow them to attend the class independently.  Typically we have about 50/50 ratios of parents who stay to attend class and families who drop-off.​

If you are dropping-off, we ask that:

• Your child is generally happy to be here.  A few tears that subside quickly is totally fine; we're happy to call you if they don't cheer up.
• Your child can use the toilet independently.  We will escort children to the restroom and back but we cannot help them use the toilet or wipe bottoms.
• Your child follows verbal directions well enough to keep everyone safe.  Our instructors will be teaching and directing 10-14 young artists.  We have a 1:7 ratio in our classes.  If your child needs one-to-one instruction to stay safe in our space and with our materials, we recommend you stay with them.  We realize that for many of our families this their first classroom experience.  Feel free to reach out to us with questions!

​If you're staying for class, we have expectations too!  For the adults joining us, we lovingly ask that:

• You let your artist take the lead on art / play activities.  Whatever they make and however they play (as long as everyone is safe) is okay with us.  
• You keep adult conversations to times when the instructors aren't giving instructions.  It's hard for us to talk over grown-up conversations.  It's also tough for the kids to focus and be good listeners when their grown-ups are chatting.
• You secure little siblings in a stroller/carrier for their safety.  These activities are not set-up for babies and toddlers and we'd hate for anyone to get hurt in our space!
• Breath.  And smile. And enjoy this creative time.  And talk to us if you have any questions or concerns so we can help.  This time and space can be absolutely magical.

Our studios keep the same schedule from September-May. ​ Registation for the fall semester begins on August 1st.

How Registration Works

Weekly classes meet during the school year, from September through May. Our fall semester is September-December and our Spring Semester is January-May.

Enrollment periods

We have two enrollment periods each year:
August 1-31st: Fall Semester enrollment
December 1-31st: Spring Semester enrollment

When signing up during these times, families have two enrollment options:
1. Pay for your semester tuition in full, save 15% on tuition, and become a member of the Studio Club.  VIEW Studio Club perks here.
2. Enroll via a monthly tuition payments. We will automatically bill you on the first of each month. Registrations continue for the entire semester unless you notify us by email before the 20th of the month.

Mid-semester enrollments

We will start new students in the middle of the semester as long as there is room in the class.  Mid-semester enrollment only have the monthly tuition payment option.  If you're interested in joining us for classes and the enrollment period has already closed, you can fill out an inquiry form here.
