Our Mini Art Camps are thoughtfully designed for young artists ages 2–6 who are ready to explore creativity in a camp setting—just on a smaller, gentler scale.

We know that not every preschooler is ready for a full day, four days in a row--and not every family is looking for that commitment. Mini Art Camps offer a bridge experience: all the joy, creativity, and community of summer camp, with a format that feels supportive, flexible, and developmentally appropriate.

Each Mini Camp meets for a single morning and is limited to just 12 artists, creating a calm, welcoming environment where kids can ease into independence at their own pace. Parents are welcome to stay for this transitional experience or drop off if their child is ready—whatever feels right for your family.

About our Mini Art Camps

​​Mini Art Camps are also a wonderful option for families with older elementary-age siblings attending summer school. While big kids are at school, younger siblings get their own meaningful, creative “summer school” experience—often giving parents a much-needed morning to themselves.

​What makes Mini Art Camps special:

• Designed for preschoolers: Projects, pacing, and expectations are carefully tailored for ages 3–6
• Small group setting: Fewer kids means less overwhelm and more individual attention
• Play-based structure: Each camp includes an arrival activity, group gathering, a longer art project, snack time, and creative free play
• Process-focused art: Children explore materials, make choices, and create art that reflects their ideas—not cookie-cutter crafts
• A natural continuation of preschool classes: Perfect for families who attend Orange Easel during the school year and want to keep that routine through the summer

Most importantly, these camps help young artists build confidence. They practice following a routine, working alongside peers, trying new materials, and discovering that art class is a place where they belong.

For some children, Mini Art Camp is a joyful stand-alone experience.
For others, it’s the first step toward our larger 4-day summer camps.

Either way, it’s a beautiful place to begin.

FAQs

What are they going to make?
Each camp makes a different open-ended, child-directed project.  Check the camp description to find out what we're making.  In addition to the art project, artists will get to create during our warm-up activity at arrival time and can make even MORE art during our creative station time after snack.

Who can come to mini camp?
Mini Camps are designed for ages 2-5 years.  Projects are open-ended and process-orientated so everyone can be successful! 
​

Do parents drop-off or stay for class. 
If your artist is three years old, happy to be here, and can use the bathroom independently, you are welcome to drop-off.  Younger artists will need an adult assistant.  We will have a mix of parents who stay, parents who leave, and parents who do alittle bit of both!  For more information, read up on our Drop-Off Policy for preschool classes.

What does snack consist of?
Since our camp is 2.5 hours long, after our project time we'll invite the artist to wash hands and share a snack before heading into our creative stations play.  Snacks are provided by the studio and are simple, pre-portioned snack (crackers or cookies, usually).  Please note food allergies on your registration so we can ensure everyone has a safe environment.  If you wish to bring your own snack instead of sharing ours, that's a-okay.

Is there a sibling discount?
Due to supply costs, there are no sibling discounts for summer camps.  Check out our auto-discounts for multiple camp sessions. ​Only one auto-discount can be applied per order.
