Drawing 101For K-2nd grade artists
Drawing 101 classes provide unique drawing challenges, foster a love of drawing, and encourage young artists. This class uses a wide range of drawing media such as pencil, charcoal, ink, colored pencils, and pastels.
Each class period is a different lesson and includes a warm-up invitation, teaching time, work time, and free draw time. Our classes meet four times per month. Tuition includes all drawing supplies. Each artist will receive a sketchbook at their first class to work within during class. |
Homeschool DrawingFor K-8th grade artists
Homeschool Drawing class is all-ages class that blends curriculum for our Drawing 101, Drawing 102 Adv. Realistic, and Drawing 102 Illustrative classes to provide unique drawing challenges, meet artists where they are, and encourage their interests/development. This class uses a wide range of drawing media including graphite, charcoal, ink, colored pencils, pastels, and alcohol markers.

We draw from observation (both still life and photograph) and from our imagination. |
Drawing 102 Adv. RealisticFor 3rd-6th grade artists
In this 90 minute class, artists will develop their observational drawing skills--working from both photograph and still life. We use wide range of drawing media such as pencil, charcoal, ink, colored pencils, and pastels.
Completed artwork is not an objective in this class; classtime is our drawing "workout" for the week...where we learn, stretch, and grow! Each class period is a different lesson. |
Drawing 102 IllustrativeFor 3rd-6th grade artists
This 90-minute class teaches the basics of how to draw in an illustrative style. We'll cover a wide range of illustration styles including cartoon, comic, and manga-style drawings. Completed artwork is not an objective in this class; classtime is our drawing "workout" for the week...where we learn, stretch, and grow!
We'll emphasize the creation of *original* characters, not copying characters of other artists. |
Drawing 103 Adv. RealisticFor 7th-12th grade artists
Our Drawing 103 class works with teens to create a finished drawing composition each month. Each class period includes a warm-up invitation, a mini lesson, and then lots and lots of work time. During the worktime, instructors give feedback to artists regarding the project's progress.
This class focuses on brainstorming subject matter, composition choices, re-working drawings, and finally precise drawing techniques in value and in hue. Artists will learn to use graphite pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, and chalk pastels. |
Drawing 103 IllustrativeFor 7th-12th grade artists
Our Drawing 103 class works with teens to create a finished drawing composition each month. Each class period includes a warm-up invitation, a mini lesson, and then lots and lots of work time. During the worktime, instructors give feedback to artists regarding the project's progress.
This class focuses on brainstorming subject matter, composition choices, re-working drawings, and finally precise inking/coloring techniques. Artists will use pencils, sharpies, microns, alcohol ink markers, and/or colored pencils. |
