Three Weeks In: A Look Inside Our Studios

The new school year is officially underway, and the first three weeks at Orange Easel have been full—in the very best way

300+ young artists have settled into their weekly routines at our Liberty and Platte Woods studios. New students are learning where everything lives, returning students are reconnecting with friends and teachers, and our tables are once again covered with sketches, experiments, works in progress, and plenty of pastel dust.

Our Multimedia artists began the year with chalk pastels. Younger artists built colorful geometric castles, fourth- and fifth-grade students created glowing cosmic skies, and our oldest groups developed vibrant reptile compositions. Creative Explorations artists have been moving through studio stations, while Drawing students have been studying everything from character design and expressive poses to reflections and realistic details.

It’s hard to capture everything happening within our walls, but these are a few of our favorite moments from the beginning of the year.
