Let's celebrate an amazing year! All Orange Easel families are invited to our annual art show to recognize our artists and their hard work. Each artist is invited to submit a piece of art for display.
Event Details
When: Sunday April 27th 4:00pm-7:00pm Where: Belvoir Winery, 1325 Odd Fellows Rd, Liberty, MO 64068
Our show is a open-house style event, meaning families are welcome to stop by at anytime. We will have a few presentation throughout the evening to recognize artists. More information on the program will be released closer to the event.
Submission Process
All Orange Easel artists are invited to submit ONE work of art for the show. There are two steps in the submission process: 1. Fill out the online submission form 2. Drop off artwork at the studio
DEADLINE: Submissions and artwork must be received by Friday April 11th.
Our show is not a curated or juried show (meaning we don't limit entries to only certain artists or only show specific pieces). All Orange Easel artists are invited to exhibit and THEY can choose the artwork that that want to share.
Our show is a JUDGED show, meaning we do give our awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category as well as a Best in Show award.
NOTE: There will not be an awards presentation. Ribbons will already be displayed next to the art when the show opens. Certificates will be available for pick up at the show.
Categories
3D Mixed Media & Sculpture - Three-dimensional artworks constructed of any material including–but not limited to–clay, metals, fiber, paper, plaster, collage materials, or resin. Painting - Two-dimensional paintings created with paints such as tempera, acrylic, oil, watercolors, gouache, acrylic pens, acrylic inks, or alcohol inks. Illustrative Drawing - Two-dimensional drawings in comic or cartoon style. Can be created with markers of all types, pens, colored pencils, or digital drawing apps. Realistic Drawing - Two-dimensional drawings in a realistic style created with oil or chalk pastels, colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, pens, or markers of all kinds. 2D Mixed Media & Printmaking -Two-dimensional artworks created using printmaking, fibers, metals, collage or a combination of more than one type of media (i.e. oil pastels, watercolors, and glitter)
Judging Rubric
All artwork will be judged by a team of Orange Easel instructors on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity (30 points) Artist's theme/subject has been explored and elaborated on to a high degree and shown in a way that original/unique. Artwork is 100% created by the artist...from concept to execution Technique in using the Media (25 points) The artwork is outstanding and finished with a great deal of care and attention to detail. Demonstrates strong skill with the media; technically accomplished Intent & Artist Statement (25 points) Artist statement is written with care, feels complete, and enhances the experience of the artwork Artist statement is written with care, feels complete, and enhances the experience of the artwork Composition (10 points) Artwork displays a strong composition that supports and enhances the art experience Craftsmanship & Presentation (10 points) The presentation and/or craftsmanship of the artwork is strong and supports/enhances the art experience
